The Art of Loving

The weekend will focus on a gentle introduction to couples Tantric practices for deepening and opening the body, appreciation, love, connection & intimacy with your partner.  Time is set aside for private time, hiking, pampering or local adventure in between sessions.

This retreat also includes a sacred Masculine/Feminine Ceremony  called a Shiva/Shakti Puja

on Saturday night in which all couples will wear white (off white or near white).

We will gather at the vacation lodge of Surf Hotel & Chateau on South Main.  From out of town?  Stay nearby on South Main, at a local airbnb cottage or other town location.  The lodge is also located across from South Main Park and River Walk Park,  This is an epic location for walks with views of the 14,000 ft mountain view of the collegiate peaks in-between sessions to move the body, and enjoy the Upper Arkansas River.

Click here right now  to see the vacation rentals near our venue.  If you are traveling more than 3 hrs away, we highly suggest you stay the night before, adapt to the elevation of 7965ft & drop in, center and relax before we begin Friday at 4:00pm.  There are other hotels and airbnb's located in the area.   Most couples find it best to transition after the ceremonies to a nearby location instead of driving on the highway to a nearby town, especially if they aren't locals.

COMMON QUESTIONS

How many people will attend? 

Space limited to 7 couples.  Quality over quantity is very important to us

in creating a safe space to meet needs of a variety of people.

Can locals attend?

Yes, locals are encouraged to attend!  Chaffee County was Tara's home for many years.  If you live more than a 20 minute drive, consider staying in Buena Vista to avoid the stress of driving at night.

​

Are there places to eat nearby?

Both South and East Main offer an abundance of coffee houses, restaurants and shops.  There are many other places to eat in town.  We will include a list of suggested places to eat with reservation times about 2 weeks before the retreat.

 

Is this retreat clothed?  

Yes, this retreat is fully clothed at all times.

Do you offer anything longer?  

Yes, private retreats and/or Sensual Souls Advanced Retreat.  The Art Of Loving or Tantra 4 Couples online workshop are the pre-requisite for Sensual Souls Advanced Couples Retreat.

What if I'm a little uncomfortable? 

Each practice and session is always presented with options to adapt to each person's comfort level.  Comfort is a priority and we grow upon each practice step by step to ensure a gentle introduction for deepening your connection with your partner.

What is included?   

• One optional 30-min optional pre-retreat check in phone session per couple - schedule here

• Minimum of 2 pre-retreat emails and short welcome video

• Approx 9-10 hours of Art Of Loving Sessions

• One 30-min private couple's check in session during retreat

• One 30-min post retreat check in session - good for up to 1 year after retreat

• Water/tea, local sourced coffee, light snacks/ fruit

• Ceremonial supplies, 1 meditation cushion per person

• Access to the courtyard, indoor and outdoor eating area and storage in the lodge's refrigerator (limited space)

 

What can I bring?  

Comfortable warm and cold weather clothing, white ceremonial clothing, water bottle, AND one meaningful item (stone, photo, quote/poem, etc) to share on the alter - you will receive the item back.  If you are driving, we highly suggest bringing a personal blanket, extra pillow or cushion to stay warm and cozy with your beloved.  Anything else to help you feel comfortable.   A more detailed list will be e-mailed a couple of weeks before the event.

 

Where are the closest airports?  

 Denver airport is approx a 3 1/2 hr to Buena Vista.  Colorado Springs airport is approx 2 1/2 hr drive to Buena Vista.  Allow an extra 30-min weekend traffic driving through small mountain towns from the front range.  Traffic can be congested on Fridays and Sunday afternoons.  If you are traveling more than 3 hours away, consider arriving the night before to relax and acclimate to the elevation.  Elevation sickness is common and can affect people at anytime.  Buena Vista is 7,965ft.
