About Earth Tantra &Tara
Unlike other Tantric offerings, Earth Tantra is unique in that it is built upon 4 foundational pillars: conscious relationship with self, nature (Mother Earth), others, and spirit or source. Rather than focusing on performance, technique, or ideology, our work centers embodied presence and lived experience within these relationships. We teach intimacy and healing as relational practices that unfold through the body, the land, and authentic connection/relating with others. Some of our offerings are also rooted in cyclical living, honoring natural rhythms instead of linear growth or urgency. By holding small, intimate containers, we create spaces where personal sovereignty and collective belonging can coexist. Earth Tantra exists for those who sense that devotion, pleasure, and relationship are not separate pursuits, but expressions of one integrated way of living. Tantra is all of life. Earth Tantra is totality.

Tara's Story & Bio
After experiencing a profound spiritual awakening that changed my life in every way February of 2015, I began exploring Tantra and fell in love with the path. After immersing myself into Tantra through workshops, retreats, literature, practices and a master class with Dawn Cartwright to reconnect with my Shakti energy and support the new found download. Soon after, I felt the calling to share Tantra with others. In March of 2016, I completed a month long teacher's level 4 certification immersion course in Thailand, with Tribal Tantra, which completely shifted the way I viewed Tantra as a whole. That 1 1/2 years led me to embody the practice of LIVING in Tantra.
Some people may know me from Naked and Afraid. I survived 21 days in a Panamanian Jungle living intimately with the earth and sleeping with my bare naked skin touching the jungle soil every night. This particular experience is the basis for much of my spiritual growth and gifts to share with the world.
My unique wilderness perspective can also be attributed to 27+ years of teaching outdoor education, outdoor guiding, wilderness therapy, wilderness survival, working with people who've experienced trauma in the social services field and being an Earth Science teacher. My Secondary Earth Science Teaching Degree is held from Northwest Missouri State University. I believe my science background, comfort of naturism, wilderness application and spiritual practices create a practice in entirety. It is important to first connect with nature and ourselves before we can fully connect with others in a healthy, authentic and intimate way.
I'm also a 200hr Tantra & Kundalini Yoga Alliance Certified Teacher through World Peace Yoga School (Himalayan Tantra lineage based) in Rishikesh, India. Other certifications include Integral Relationship Coach, Plant Essence Level 1 Practitioner with Wisdom of the Earth, Wilderness First Responder, Leave No Trace Master Educator, Certified Death Doula and Wedding Officiant. For 3 years, teaching at survival and leave no trace at Red Rocks Community College lit my heart. Today my passions stay alive in the outdoor world by teaching wilderness survival and leave no trace ethics privately with Earth Tantra. I'm also excited to announce I can now add author as another offering to the world. Check out the Tantric Shadow Work Journal link below available on Amazon.
Being trauma informed (trained) since 1999 has been a huge part of my previous career path. I specifically worked with at-risk youth, adjudicated youth and at-risk families from wilderness therapy to prevention programs, such as a director for Boys & Girls Club to managing mentor programs to social services to post-adoption family support and training.

What is Tantra?
WHAT is Tantra?
The meaning of Tantra is very personal and different for each person. Tantra originated with deep roots in India and the Himalayans, historically intertwined with Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism. Over time, it has expanded globally, resonating with people from a variety of spiritual paths. In the modern western worlds, Neo-Tantra has emerged, which blends sexuality and traditional practices with yoga, meditation, and mindfulness to support contemporary lifestyles. The word Tantra itself means to "weave" (Tan) for expansion of (Tra). Tantra is a way of life - a way of being.
Isn't Tantra just about sex? Most people associate Tantra with sex, and Tantra is MUCH more. Yes, sacred sexuality is a part of Tantra, BUT only a very small slice of the pie. There are hundreds of modalities within Tantra, which can create confusion with the linear mind. However, we can pick and choose the practices that resonate with us the MOST as an individual, in partnership, with family and community.
Who practices Tantra?
Tantra is for everyone from all walks of life. united by a desire to deepen awareness, awaken energy, and explore the sacred interplay between body, mind, and spirit. Buddha said himself, tantra is for everyone and is the middle path embracing both struggle and light. People exploring or practicing tantra do not need to be "perfect" or holy to embody and grow with Tantra.
